Reese Prior - Athletics

This weekend from the 7th to the 9th of March is the WA Athletic Championships which is the qualifying event for The Australian National Championships which run from the 10th to the 13th of April.

I will be competing in the Para 100m, 200m and Long jump. Whist competing for national qualifications, I am also aiming to implement my training and work towards some new personal bests!

In all three events at the WA Athletic Champs I won gold and have qualified for the Nationals in April.

Thanks for sponsoring me.

Reese

Jordan Mouritz - Basketball written by Mark Allday

Jordan Mouritz - Basketballer

Jordan is currently (06/03 - 09/03) in Canberra, at the AIS, participating in an Australian Rollers mens squad training camp. This is the first time he has been invited to the mens national squad training and it is a big milestone for him.

On Monday nights, beginning 24/03 Jordan will start competing in the State League Wheelchair Basketball League, run by Rebound WA and held at Herb Graham Recreation Centre, Mirrabooka. Jordan plays A grade for The Black Ducks Junior Development Squad. He is the back to back reigning MVP for 23 and 24 seasons! Games are at 7pm and 8pm weekly.

Jordans next big tournament is the Junior National Championships, held in Brisbane April 8 - 13. He will be competing for the WA Black Ducks. The Black Ducks are aiming for back to back gold, after beating Vic in the gold medal game last year. The team were also recognised as Basketball WA Performance team of 2024! https://www.competitions.basketball/competitions/national-championships/u18-njwc/event-info#:~:text=National%20Junior%20Wheelchair%20Championships%20is,be%20found%20on%20classification%20here.

Most importantly Jordan - if selected - will represent the U23 Australian Spinners at the World Championships in Sao Paolo, Brazil 6 - 21st June.

Jake Howe - Rugby written by Mark Allday

Jake Howe – Rugby Playing with the Aussie Steelers representing Australia

JAKE is currently competiting in Paris.

Hey FTT crew, just wanted to say thank you for all the continual support over the years. I recently put your raised funds towards a new set of wheels that helped me perform in Canada that ended up cementing my spot in the Paris Paralympic campaign. So thanks again.

This year we have a couple rugby rounds coming up.  One in Brisbane and one in Sydney. Then we have our big Nationals alongside an international competition at the end of May. I am not sure if I will be on the Steelers team or on a Nationals team. I would rather play full minutes in a div 1 team rather than minimal minutes on the Steelers.

Thanks again for you support

Jake
